80% Exams and Quizzes
Many of our exams and quizzes will be questions from old Regents exams and will be graded on a hundred-point system.
20% Homework, Class work and Participation
Homework, class work, labs and writing assignments, will be checked for completion, corrected in class or collected.
As a student of science you are expected to attend and participate in activities and discussions. A student's refusal to participate in activities, without just cause, will result in loss of credit. Upon return, students that were absent are expected to get missed assignments from classmates or from Mr. DeRuvo. Any materials needed are to be received from Mr. DeRuvo without disruption of class time. It is the student's responsibility to approach the teacher before or immediately after an absence or lateness with justification. Any student that misses class without an acceptable excuse may be refused the opportunity to make up missed assignments.
