Dear Onteora High School Families,
I hope that this letter finds everyone well. It is nice to see so many students taking advantage of the various opportunities that the high school offers. Congratulations to all of the student-athletes for having an amazing fall season. I would like to provide you with the following information:
End of Quarter 1
The first marking period will officially end on Thursday, November 9th. We expect to have report cards ready and available on the student/parent portal by the end of the day on Wednesday, November 14th. After-school academic support is available in our core subjects. The schedule can be found on our website at https://bit.ly/3qio2sH.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
On behalf of the faculty and staff of the middle and high school, we would like to invite you to attend our parent-teacher conferences next week. On Wednesday, November 8th, teachers will be available for in-person conferences from 3:00 P.M. to 5 P.M. and again from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. On Thursday, November 9th, teachers will be available for online/virtual conferences from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Parent-Teacher conferences are an opportunity to have individual conferences with your child's teachers. For your convenience, you can sign up online via the following website: www.myconferencetime.com/onteora. Please follow the steps below to sign up for your preferred conference times:
- The website/scheduler will be available from 12:00 P.M., Friday, November 3rd through 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 8th. Please go to www.myconferencetime.com/onteora.
- Find and click on the name of your child's teacher.
- Select your preferred time.
- Enter the required information.
- Click "Sign Up For Your Conference" near the bottom of the screen. (For each teacher, please limit your conference to one conference per household.)
- You will receive an appointment confirmation email, which will include the Zoom link for Thursday’s conferences.
If you have any questions or do not have internet access, please contact your child's school counselor at (845) 657-2373.
Advanced Placement (AP) Exam Registration
We have made a concerted effort to notify all AP students that they must register for AP Exams now. We are placing our order from College Board on Friday, November 17th. As per College Board policy, any registrations submitted after this date will incur a $40 late fee. Any questions or concerns should be directed to Mr. Schimmelpfennig at dschimmelpfennig@onteora.k12ny.us.
Attention Seniors: Graduation Cap & Gown Ordering Information
Believe it or not, it’s time for our seniors to order their caps and gowns for graduation. Please use the following link and place your order now. Your order will be delivered to the school prior to graduation. If you plan on using a sibling’s or former student’s cap and gown from a previous year, please email Mrs. Casey.

November 9: No Student Attendance - Parent-Teacher Conferences (10 A.M. – 3 P.M.)
November 9: End of Quarter 1
November 10: School Closed – Veterans Day
November 13: JV/Varsity Winter Season Begins
November 15: Report Cards Issued (Report cards will be available by 3 P.M. on the portal)
November 22-24: School Closed for Thanksgiving Break
