HS Principal's Update - June 16, 2025

June 16, 2025

Dear High School Families,

Today marks the last day of school for high school students. On behalf of the faculty and staff of the high school, I would like to thank everyone for their support and our partnership throughout the school year. We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our students. Good luck to students on their Regents and final exams!

The following are some reminders:

Final Exams and Regents Exams
Information (e.g., schedule, busing, etc.) about Regents Examinations and course finals can be found on our website.

Final Grading (Quarter grades, exams, and final course grades)
The grading tab on the student/parent portal will be disabled at the end of the day today to allow teachers to record new grades and reconcile their gradebooks. This is necessary to ensure that only accurate grading information appears in the portal. We anticipate enabling the grading tab so that students and parents can see final course grades on Thursday, June 26. If you are concerned about a specific grade/assessment, you can always reach out to the appropriate teacher.

Students who do not successfully pass courses/Regents exams will be notified by their school counselor so that arrangements can be made for summer opportunities to recover course/exam credit. Summer school will be held in person at Rondout High School from July 10 through August 15 (8 A.M. to 12 P.M.). August Regents exams are scheduled for August 18 and 19.

Congratulations Class of 2025
Congratulations to the Class of 2025! Please join us to celebrate the Class of 2025 on Thursday, June 26, at 6 P.M. on the stadium field for this year’s Commencement Ceremony. Information about the future plans of many of our graduates can be found in the school newspaper, The Talon, which can be found online

Attention Graduating Seniors
Graduation rehearsal, which is mandatory for all seniors who are planning to participate in our graduation ceremony, is scheduled for Thursday, June 26, at 9 A.M.  At the rehearsal, we will go over the entire ceremony, which always promises to be one of the best in the region. At the conclusion of the rehearsal, students will be provided with their caps and gowns, as well as five priority seating tickets for inclement weather.

The Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, June 26, at 6 P.M. on the stadium field. Tickets are not required to attend the outdoor ceremony. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to the high school’s gymnasium. In this case, we will open up the doors at 5 P.M. for guests who have priority seating tickets. All other guests will be admitted to the ceremony (without tickets) beginning at 5:30 P.M.

Please note that the ceremony will be live-streamed.

2025-2026 School Year Information
Throughout the summer months, I will continue to provide updates, which will include information about calendar events, student schedules, busing, etc.

I wish everyone a safe summer vacation!

Sincerely,

Lance Edelman
High School Principal
